christmas cookie fundraising idea for school

New Christmas fundraising ideas for your school

With less than 100 days to go until the big day, many schools are already planning their money-making stalls for the 2023 Christmas Fair!

If your PTA met over the summer holidays to start planning your Christmas fundraising campaigns, then Kids Just Recycle would like to add a few more ideas into the figgy pudding mix. Our team is already getting into the Christmas spirit (not the sherry!) and we’ve come up with some new ideas and some with a Christmas twist that you could incorporate this year.

  • Could you partner up with a local tree farm or nursery to sell Christmas trees for a cut of the profits?
  • Organise a Christmas Bazaar where local artisans and crafters can sell their festive-themed goods and give a % of sales back to the school?
  • Santa’s Grotto – it’s an oldy but a goody and always chargeable!
  • Hold a Gingerbread House decorating contest; chargeable entry for individual pupils, a class effort or even an at home/family affair.
  • Arrange a Christmas Carol Sing-Along and sell tickets for an afternoon or evening of festive songs.
  • If you have a crafty person within your school community, why not hold a Christmas Wreath Making Workshop; provide the materials and charge to attend.
  • Hold a Christmas Cookie Sale and package and wrap them up as sets to sell as lovely edible gifts.
  • Get competitive on the school stage with a Christmas Jumper Contest; entry fee for each contender.
  • Who do you know that would jump at the chance of a Christmas Gift Wrapping Service? If you hate wrapping, this is the perfect solution!
  • Fancy a Christmas dinner from years gone by? Sell tickets and host a Dickensian-themed Christmas meal – fancy dress compulsory!
  • Or if you want to help the planet as well as your school purse, why not take part in our Kids Fill The Bag Christmas Challenge? All you have to do is collect 40 bin bags full of pre-loved clothes, paired/tied shoes and household textiles like towels, curtains and bed linen, and your school could earn £500 per tonne! We will pay you 50p per kilo for your reusable donations.

We will accept out-grown and unwanted garments, unclaimed lost property items, or clothing cleared out from your wardrobes and cupboards at home. But remember, they have to be in a condition that is reusable! We even have downloadable resources for you to promote your fundraising mission on our website, so you can promote this event within school and to the wider local community.

Remember, always promote your fundraising ideas through your social media platforms, newsletters, and local community boards to maximise participation and support.

If your school would like to take part in our ‘Kids Fill The Bag’ Christmas challenge and raise funds through vital textiles recycling, contact one of our team today and we’d be happy to help!

Happy fundraising!
