We have an exciting, fun and easy way for your school community to raise valuable funds while making a real difference to the planet.

The Kids Fill The Bag challenge is designed to bring pupils, parents and staff together in a simple activity that delivers both financial rewards and powerful environmental learning.

With environmental topics now firmly embedded in the school curriculum, more schools than ever are teaching children about how to care for the planet and the importance of keeping waste out of landfill. Learning about the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – is vital, but putting those lessons into action makes them truly meaningful. The Kids Fill The Bag challenge allows pupils to see first-hand how small actions, like reusing and recycling textiles, can have a big and positive impact on the world around them.

One thing that schools and local communities often struggle with is funding, but with the support of the team at Kids Just Recycle, it is possible to raise money in a way that is ethical, educational and environmentally responsible. Imagine raising funds for your school simply by donating unwanted and pre-loved clothes, shoes and household textiles that might otherwise go unused or end up in the ground! Through this scheme, recycling becomes a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

So, are you ready to take part in our ‘Kids Fill The Bag’ Challenge this New Year?

Taking part is simple and effective. By collecting 40 bin bags filled with pre-loved clothing, paired, tied shoes and household textiles, your school could earn up to an impressive £500 per reusable tonne. We pay 50p per kilo for all reusable donations we collect, and even if you do not reach a full tonne, we will still pay you 25p per kilo for collections up to 350kg. Even better, if the market value of textiles increases, the amount we pay your school increases too.

By filling bin bags with outgrown clothing, unwanted garments, unclaimed lost property or items cleared from wardrobes and cupboards at home, your school can receive a cash sum paid directly into its funds. It is an easy way to transform everyday clear-outs into meaningful support for school projects, resources or facility improvements, all while helping to protect the environment.

If your school would like to start a Kids Fill The Bag challenge and begin raising funds through vital textile recycling, our friendly team is ready to help. It is a fantastic way to encourage teamwork, community involvement and environmental responsibility while generating much-needed income. We also provide a range of eye-catching downloadable materials to help you promote your challenge and maximise participation.

In addition to the Kids Fill The Bag scheme, we often support schools by installing our popular free branded recycled clothing bins on school premises. These bins allow members of the local community to donate their pre-loved garments all year round, creating a steady stream of additional income. For schools with second-hand uniform shops, we can also provide a smaller dedicated bin for uniform donations to help keep stock levels high and costs low for families.
