The pulp can then be pressed, dried and transformed into brand-new sheets of paper. It’s a brilliant way for children to see how something old can become something new.
Become a recycling champion
Older pupils can take their environmental learning even further by becoming Recycling Champions. Why not carry out a recycling audit around your school? Children can investigate how much paper, food and water is wasted, then work together to create ideas that reduce waste and measure their progress over time. Join the Kids Fill the Bag Challenge!
Want to help the planet and raise money for your school? Our Kids Fill the Bag challenge is a fun and easy way to do both! Simply collect a minimum of 40 refuse bags filled with pre-loved clothing, paired (or tied together) shoes and household textiles. We pay 50p per kilo for reusable donations collected, meaning your school could earn up to £500 per reusable tonne.
It’s amazing how quickly those bags fill up! Children can bring in:
